Brisbane Golf Club -
25 October 2021
October's event was held at Brisbane Golf Club. Again we thank the club and Alan Grieve for welcoming Hickory Golfers Queensland to the venue.
13 players teed off on a hot and humid day with a forecast of storms. Fortunately the storms held off and the field made it around without raising an umbrella. Green renovations and some changes to the normal layout provided some challenges.
Local knowledge is a great asset when it comes to Brisbane Golf Club. Two Brisbane Golf Club members came in with the exceptional score of 25 stableford points for 9 holes. The winner of the day was Bruce Collins on a countback from Bradley Tatnell. Bruce shot a credible 35, one under par, whilst Bradley shot even par. Peter Egan also played well and came in third with 21 points.
As a small aside the secretary had a rare moment of brilliance scoring 5 points on a par 5.
See you on the practice fairway and good golfing.

Annual leader board
With only a 2 games left in this event, Bruce Collins has increased his lead to $115.00. Second place is being held by Ross Bishop with $85.00 and Ivan Hodges has third place with $60.00.
It will be a good contest to see who will win the Race To Eagle Farm and be the 2021 overall hickory champion.
With increasing players entering the final few events, the prize pool will increase — offering some hope to those lower on the leader board. With 20 players entered, first place would offer $45, in case you are counting your place in the field.
