Royal Queensland - September 2021
September saw a number of new members join the HGQ. We welcome Denis Brosnan, Doug Morel, Colin Marshall, David Mansfield and Illija Solden to our ranks and trust that this will be the start of a new very enjoyable golfing experience for all of you.
Ross Bishop displayed all his experience and had a day out returning with a fine score of 23 points. Ian King also mastered the greens bringing in a score of 18 points. The ever consistent Bruce Collins pipped Andrew Baker on a countback to take the 3rd prize. Illija Solden deserves a special mention returning 15 points off a handicap of 1.
We also had 2 visitors on the day and trust Trev Kidd and Peter Rozario both enjoyed the afternoon.
The next event is a big one! The Queensland Hickory Shaft Singles Championships over two days on 19 and 20 September.
See you on the practice fairway and good golfing.

Annual leader board
With only a few games left in this event, the big prize money remains with Bruce Collins while Ross Bishop is only $5 back in second . Ivan Hodges has third place.
All the leaders have shown consistency throughout the year and it will be a good contest to see who will win the Race To Eagle Farm and be the 2021 overall hickory champion.
With increasing players entering the final few events, the prize pool will increase — offering some hope to those lower on the leader board. With 20 players entered, first place would offer $45, in case you are counting your place in the field.
