Monthly Event - August 2022

Cool and overcast conditions greeted players for our monthly event at RQ.

19 players turned out and the improved numbers made for a convivial group at post match drinks and prize presentation.

The course was, as always in great condition with firm fast greens and perfect fairways.  Thank-you to the greens staff at RQ for the presentation of the course.

Arthur O'Shea was a popular winner with a fine score of 18 stableford points.  President King-Scott lost to Arthur on a countback and took out second prize.  Another countback for third position saw David Jones triumph over Bradley Tatnell.  

The event was followed by the AGM and dinner. AGM minutes can be found on the website.

All attention is now focused on the Australian Championships being played on 11-13 September.  Good luck to all the HGQ members playing in the championship.  Its a very strong field with 25% of contestants with a handicap of 2 or less.

The Player of the Year (POTY) competition leaderboard is tightening up.  Players should note points are more than doubled for the 18 hole competitions.  Full POTY points are under the "Results" tab.

Trophies were donated by Rob King Scott.
