2022 Cooroy Bobby Jones Trophy

Cooroy Golf Club once again hosted the Bobby Jones Trophy.

This years format was changed to included an Ambrose on the Saturday followed by the 18 hole Stableford event on Sunday.

Sunday started with a threatening storm and rain. The field ventured out. The storm petered out and the field played on without the hindrance of rain or wind.  I thank Cooroy Golf Club for their hospitality in hosting the hickory golfers.  Particularly, Grathan Leatherbarrow, Jason Norris and the lovely Jenny Norris who cooked up a storm to provide the participants with a wonderful lunch.

The event was postponed from earlier in the year due to poor weather and thanks to Cooroy Golf Club for their flexiability in rescheduling the event.

The conditions produced good results with only 7 Stableford points separating the top and tail of the field.  

Local gun, Jason Norris beat the ever consistent Greg Mellifont on a count back each returning 39 points. Third place went to Dave Mansfield with a sore of 37 points. Illija Solden the Australian and Queensland Hickory Champion had the best gross of 76 scoring an 8 on the last hole!

The event also rounded out the Player of the Year competitions.  This year's winners are:
