Monthly Event - October 2022

Hello Girls!

Springtime and there is a change in the air.  The jacarandas are in bloom, the grass is green and the girls come out to play hickory! 

Perfect conditions greeted players for our monthly event at RQ.

19 players turned out including 3 girls.  The mixed group made for a convivial gathering and post match drinks and prize presentation.

The course is being prepared for the Australian PGA and was in great condition with firm fast greens and perfect fairways.  Thank-you to the greens staff at RQ for the presentation of the course.

Two of the three girls were using hickory for the fist time and judging by the results it wont be last time we see them on a Friday afternoon.  Lindy Armsden returned 21 points to take home the HGQ Dry Red No 1.

The men have some catching up to do with Chis Cooper winning with 18 points, Peter Monks had 16 point to take second place in a countback from Wally Boydell and Philip Akes.   

We have very few events left on the calendar this year so it will be interesting to see how the Player of the Year (POTY) competitions pans out.

November is a big month for HGQ with the Qld Masters and monthly events being scheduled at Nudgee Golf Club.  The Bobby Jones is run again at Cooroy and we have a tent at the Australian PGA.  Please keep an eye on the website for further details and nominations.
