Match Report - 1st Monthly event of the year

HOT HOT HOT!

 January heat and humidity put a question mark over the afternoons event.  However the golfing gods smiled upon the hickory group yet again and and we all made it around without raising an umbrella.

Due to the oppressive conditions (37 degrees) we had a few late withdrawals and field of 11 presented to the starter.

A very rare good round was had by the Secretary and Philip Akes came in as the winner with 20 points.  Second place was Ross Bishop with 19 point and David Jones has 18 points to come third on a countback from Bradley Tatnell.

4 pointers went to Philip Akes and Ross Haslam.  We are looking for someone to sponsor the 2025 Four Point Club club.  If you would like to donate $200 to be this year's sponsor please contact Rob King-Scott or Philip Akes and we will happily take your money.

Upcoming events

Our next monthly event is scheduled for 28 February at RQ.  Registration open for this event and invitations will be sent on 7 February.

Brisbane Golf Club is going to host Sunday 18 hole hickory events through out the year.  The first is will be held on 23 March with tee times around midday.  The events are designed to encourage golfers who can't make to the course on Fridays to try hickory golf.  If you know anybody who wants a game of hickory this may the ideal starting point.  Special green fees of only $25 are offered as an incentive.   More detail contact Greg Mellifont at lyn.mellifont@hotmail.com
