Sandy Lyle is a Scottish professional golfer. He won two major championships during his career - the Open 1985 and the Masters 1988. He spent 167 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in May 2012. Although still playing professional golf, Sandy also enjoys playing hickory golf, winning the World Hickory Open in 2014 and 2016. Part of the attraction of playing with hickory clubs is that they reintroduce 'feel' to the golf shot. Proponents also claim that hickory golf allows golfers to play classic golf courses as they are meant to be played.
